My handmade pottery reflects my interests in texture, cultural patterns and their meaning, the beauty found in simplistic form and whimsical artistry.
I believe that pottery can be a reflective journey like a favorite coffee mug that fits just right in your hand or a decorative piece of art that brings joy.
Currently, I am hand building pottery wiith stoneware that is either warm brown, buff, or white.
I also have been experimenting with raw glazing and carving into the matte glaze or terra cotta slip. I enjoy experimenting with glaze combinations that enhance the surface quality and identity of the fired piece. Most of my whimsical work is low fired and my functional ware is mid-fired stoneware using lead free glazes.
